As the Superintendent of Rolling Hills Schools, it is my privilege to welcome you to a place where educational excellence thrives and the future of our children is the utmost priority. We hold high academic standards because, like you, we want a bright future for our students.

We focus on innovation and bringing more opportunities and options to the classroom. We also recognize the whole child, understanding that success is not solely measured by academic achievement but by physical and social growth as well. And, we believe in offering diverse pathways for our students’ futures. Whether it’s choosing from our extensive array of college-ready classes, apprenticeships, or certifications, our aim is to empower students to carve out their best possible future.

Should life’s journey bring our alumni back to this community, our students will be prepared to contribute positively. Our success story is woven from the incredible fabric of our dedicated staff and the support of our vibrant community here in Rolling Hills.

Amazing story and great moment at the meeting last night. On March 19, 2025, Ms. Biggs at Meadowbrook Elementary noticed one of her students standing up with his back toward her. Concerned that something was wrong, she approached him to check on the situation. She realized that the student, Benjie, was not speaking. When she asked if he was choking, he nodded his head no. However, when she inquired if he could speak, he shook his head no. He attempted to talk but only produced a wheezing sound.

Without hesitation, Ms. Biggs began to administer the Heimlich maneuver on Benjie. After four repetitions, a gummy bear dislodged from his throat. She called out for another teacher, but they were in a meeting. Recognizing she had no assistance, she acted swiftly again, applying another round of the Heimlich until everything was expelled.

On March 20, 2025, Ms. Biggs was recognized by the Rolling Hills Local School District at their school board meeting. Benjie and his family surprised her while she was recounting the story. Benjie snuck in behind her, presenting her with a bouquet of flowers and a heartfelt letter from his family. They praised Ms. Biggs for her quick action. They expressed gratitude to the Rolling Hills Local School District for providing their teachers with the training and knowledge necessary to handle such an extreme situation.

Sheriff Jeffrey D. Paden and his staff of The Guernsey County Sheriff's Office is proud to have dedicated teachers in our community who are always ready to respond to any situation, ensuring the safety and well-being of our children.
